چکیده

The fluorescence and amplified spontaneous emission characteristics of rhodamine 6G impregnated in polyacrylamide is reported in this chapter. Using amplified spontaneous emission gain radiative and related properties of this dye doped matrix was measured. It was found that photostability of rhodamine 6G is unusually high in this matrix compared to other polymer hosts like polyrnethylmethacrylate.

Multi element doped type-II heterostructure assemblies (N, S- TiO2/ZnO) for electrochemical crystal violet dye degradation

Herein, we report multi-element doped Type-II heterostructure assembly consists of N, S doped TiO2 and ZnO for electrochemical crystal violet dye degradation studies. Electrochemical measurements were performed on these synthesized N-S codoped TiO2/ZnO compositeheterostructured assemblies which are fabricated on Titanium (Ti) substrate. It was observed that a composite ele...

Stark effect in dye-doped polymers studied by photochemically accumulated photon echo

We study theoretically and experimentally the influence of a homogeneous static electric field on a photochemically accumulated stimulated photon echo in dye-doped polymers. The dependence of the time profile of the echo signal on the strength of the electric field is evaluated in the case of a linear Stark effect. Experiments using polymers doped with organic dye molecules are carried out at l...

Importance of dye host on absorption, propagation losses, and amplified spontaneous emission for dye-doped polymer thin films.

The absorption spectra of dye-doped polymer thin films made from a variety of five dyes and six matrices, either organic or organomineral, are analyzed to evaluate the residual absorption in the red wavelength tail and in particular at amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) wavelengths. An absorption cutoff wavelength is defined as the extrapolated wavelength at which the absorption losses are ex...

Surface plasmon enhanced emission from dye doped polymer layers.

We have experimentally verified that the emission of visible light from dye doped polymers can be enhanced with the use of surface plasmon coupling. By matching the plasmon frequency of a thin unpatterned silver film to the emission of a dye doped polymer deposited onto this metal surface, we have observed a eleven-fold enhancement of light emission. By patterning the silver layer, we estimate ...

A Polarizer-Free Electro-Optical Switch Using Dye-Doped Liquid Crystal Gels

We demonstrate a polarizer-free electro-optical switch using dye-doped liquid crystal (LC) gels. The mechanism of dye-doped LC gels mainly involves the combination of polymer scattering and dye absorption. However, the domain size of polymer networks, dye concentration, LC concentration, and fabrication process can all affect the phase separation process and thus result in dye-doped LC gels wit...
